If you have never set foot inside Gresford Methodist Church then you cannot fully appreciate the potential that this historic and important local building has.

For over 135 years it has been a cornerstone for Methodist preaching in Gresford and the surrounding area.

But now is the time to bring this building into the 21st century so that it can play an important role at the heart of the community in many different ways to benefit everyone!

The main improvements that need to be made include:

  • Seating – new comfortable and flexible seating that can be used for a number of different events (e.g. concerts, meetings)
  • Church entrance – modern and lighter entrance into the Church to make the building much more welcoming
  • Lighting – modern lighting to enhance the beauty of the interior and keep running costs to a minimum
  • Sound System – improved sound system to cater for all types of events
  • Heating – replace the old and expensive heating with a new up to date system that is more efficient and cost effective

All these improvements do come at a price and the estimated figure for this work is £45,000. The good news is that so far we have managed to raise just under £35,000 and with your help we can achieve the target and get this work underway as soon as possible.

The Church itself already boasts an impressive community hall (see photo) that is an excellent venue for birthday celebrations, parties, weekly classes and clubs and is the only venue in Gresford with a permanent stage that can be utilised for events such as plays and concerts.
