The sun shone, the birds sang… No, actually it poured with rain, but despite that a good afternoon was had by everyone who attended Gresford Methodist Church’s Christmas Fayre on Saturday November 21st. Gresford has a proud history of excellent Fayres, and this one was no exception. There were usual stalls, from cakes to craft and from raffle to refreshments.
The man himself paid us a visit, and though he’d obviously had to leave his reindeer at a discreet distance he listened carefully whilst the children made their wishes known. Tony’s skill with wood and Libby’s pyrography meant that ‘Santa please stop here’ signs were available for purchase just in case he turns out to be a little absent minded on Christmas Eve.
The children were also occupied with the Wii game which had been set up and which allowed them to test their skill at a virtual Winter Olympic Games - gold, silver and bronze (chocolate) awards were duly presented. The underlying purpose of the afternoon was to raise much needed funds, and this was just as successful. The Church would like to thank everyone who made it possible for the Treasurer to bank £1555.34.
